My music contents page- 3rd draft
My final page has been changed minimally compared with the last draft but I think it looks a lot more appealing despite this fact. The first thing I changed was the font of the text on the bottom right of the page. I thought it didn't look as if it fitted on the page correctly so I found a font which suits the page better. In addition to this, I put a page number at the bottom of the page along with the logo for a conventional appearance. This layout/theme will be included in my double page spread. The only change I will make to this cover is to include my own picture and then it will be my final cover.

My music contents page- 2nd draft
My second draft is improved from the first because the page is broken down more and the layout of the Page looks better. The first thing I did was add lines along the page splitting up sections which is subconsciously noticeable. However this is not the main feature of the change but it was introduced to make the page more aesthetically pleasing, the main change in the page is my inserted front cover. I have seen this in professional magazines so I thought it would be a good idea to see how it turns out. Not only is it a space filler, but it really does make a difference in making a good looking contents page. If I had left the text box at the bottom plain, it would have affected the contents pages' appearance making it look boring and almost as if I had nothing else to put there. When reading, the audience would prefer a full page of interesting things to look at rather than a few things. On my next draft, I will address the issue of smaller details which will give the page a much better overall finish.
My music contents page- 1st draft
This is the frst of my contents pages. I have tried to keep the colour scheme close to that of my front cover, this is so it looks as if they are meant to be a part of the same magazine, I also aim to do this with double page spread. Again, things that can be improved are similar to that of the front cover. For example, the 'smaller' basic information isnt there, like the date. Additionally, the layout looks as if it has been styled around the picture and the page looks like a series of blocks. I think I can improve the overall appearance by making a few smaller changes so I will go back and look at my reseach pages and see what looks good and hopefully get some inspiration from them.

My music magazine, 3rd draft
The changes I have made here are only very slightly different compared to the last magazine, nothing has been re-positioned or added. All I have done is change the colour of the fonts because in light blue, they contrasted and stood out too much compared with the masthead and by changing them to white, they now stand out in different way. They are seen later rather than sooner and this is the effect that most (if not all) front covers should have because it's conventional. My next post for my music magazine front cover will have an image of my own on it.

My music magazine, 2nd draft
The second draft I have created has been significantly improved to a higher level of proffesionalism than the last one. Firstly, I have changed the things that I said I would change in order to have a more attractive cover. The words now compliment eachother in colour and font and the most important things now stand out as they should do, The masthead grabs attention, then the splash 'appears' making you look at the picture and then the other text around the page, lastly the album covers at the bottom are looked at, by this point the reader won't have even seen the price or issue number etc because they aren't made to stand out.

My music magazine, 1st Draft
This is the first draft of my music magazine. It's negative points are that it looks a little bit too plain, This will mean the audience won't pay much attention to it. So I must make it more attractive without ruining the front cover. Additionally, the font which I have used for the splash and crossheads isnt particularly appealing, making the cover seem dull. So I therefore must change it to look more aesthetically pleasing. Lastly, the appropiate information like price, issue number and date aren't included on the cover so these are matters I must address.

Starting my Music magazine
The next time I post, I will be posting the first drafts for my music magazine. I will take into account the things i've learnt from creating a school magazine and I will incorporate them into my drafts and final covers of my front cover, contents page and double page spread.
Deciding my magazine font
I have created this page to decide which masthead font I should use, I printed a copy and classmates then noted which they liked best. I have used 8 different fonts so they would have enough choice. The font which has the most votes by it is the font I will use, additionally this is the font I like most and I would have used it regardless of what my classmates thought. I think it has been voted for most because it looks like a very recognsiable font, making it easier to spot, and it looks exciting. Some of the other fonts are appealing but some are boring and the audience don't remember dull things.

Deciding my magazine name
Here is a table of names I passsed around my class in order to see which name they thought was best. the majority vote was for ''indie-pendant'', but I personally prefer ''record'', the reason for this is because ''indie-pendant'' is a large masthead and it would be difficult to prduce a good front cover with such as large name, whereas ''record'' is smaller and easier to fit in, additionally I have thought of my logo for the magazine for ''record''
Contents page- Final
My Final contents page is now simple but effective, for example the pictures didnt look particularly interesting on the page whereas now, they stand off the page more because of a simple border. Additionally I have added a smaller title which attracts the readers eye to the list of what is in the magazine. My aim was to make the contents page simple but attractive at the same time. It also provides the right amount of information and therefore the page isnt overloaded.
Contents page- 2nd Draft
My second draft has been changed from my first one according to peoples opinions. it now has a better colour scheme making it look more appealing.Besides this, I have also reduced the width of the lines on the page because on the first draft, people thought they stood out too much and they are too noticable rather than just an aesthetically pleasing feature.

Contents page- 1st draft
This is my 1st draft of my contents page, I have attempted to keep it similar to my front cover so that they don't contrast so much if I make it different. I will now however give a copy to classmates and I will ask opinions on what is either good or bad and ask for what they think should be improved.

Here is my final copy of my school magazine cover, I have used peoples opinions and comments and edited it accordingly. I now have a very effective cover that an audience will like. The feedback got was very simple things that can be easily changed to make the cover look better. For example, somebody suggested I shouldnt use animated food on the bottom of the page, so I changed it to photos of food. Another piece of feedback I got was to make the price smaller than the issue number and date, this is so the price won't attract attention until later on when the reader would like to buy the magazine.

My fourth draft is far more proffesional than the other three drafts, it has the appropriate details that every magazine should have, such things as a barcode, price and logo. I think this is a good looking cover, but I still think it can be improved. My next magazine cover will be final so I will ask for feedback on this draft and improve it with other peoples comments and thoughts.

School Magazine Cover- 3rd Draft
My 3rd draft is much better than the other two, for a start it looks far more like a front cover. Firstly, the masthead stands out (although the splash does draw the eye more), and there are more strategically placed crossheads to make the page look better, there is even a barcode at the bottom for realism. But this can be improved still.
School Magazine Cover- 2nd draft
This is the 2nd draft of my school magazine cover, this is improved from my first atempt because things like the font colour now match eachother rather than be in a random colour, additionally, there is more on the page to look at, whereas on the first one, there was barely anything on it, so it didn't look finished. However, this is still far to basic and very poor, so I will continue to improve.
School Magazine Cover- 1st draft
This is the 1st draft of my school magazine, as you can see, it is very basic and there are a lot of things wrong with it. So by continually improving it, I will make it slowly better and I will post each cover until i've made my final.
